Below is additional information about Craig that may be important to you.

What is his day job?

Craig is a partner in the firm Going, Sebastien, Fisher & LeBouef, LLP, an accounting, registered investment advisory, and consulting firm located in Opelousas, LA.  The firm is a non-traditional professional services firm founded in 1948 whose mission is to help clients build wealth by providing value added services considering their business and financial needs.  Craig provides tax and tax planning services, personal financial planning, investment planning and management, and litigation support services to his clients and the local district courts.

What makes his background unique?

For the past 19 years, Craig has worked in accounting providing consulting services to governments, individuals, businesses, and district courts in the areas of tax, accounting, financial planning, investment management, business valuations, and community property partitions.  Craig regularly works with clients in tax planning to help them minimize both individual and business tax liabilities.  In addition, he coordinates his clients’ investments to minimize the tax impact by purchasing specific asset classes in the better-suited investment account.  Craig’s undergraduate degree is in finance; however, he took the appropriate hours of accounting to allow him to sit for the CPA exam.  Mr. LeBouef felt having a CPA license with a finance degree would give him a unique professional background in helping his clients build financial wealth. After receiving his MBA in 1984, Craig transitioned from the audits of governments and employee benefit plans to tax, tax planning, financial planning, and investment planning.  Craig is a former member of the CFP Board’s Council of Examinations having served from 2003-2005.

What would he like to share with students?

Craig brings a unique practical background to teaching due to his experience in tax and other areas of personal financial planning because he is a practitioner.  During his course presentation he is always looking to add value to his student’s practice or personal situation. Craig uses real life examples in his teaching to complement tax and accounting theory learned in class.

What are his outside interests?

Craig’s outside interests include reading, tennis, and working out at the local health club.  Craig’s reading interests: history of the U.S. constitution, natural sciences, and spirituality.
